The Bothnian Coastal Route

The Bothnian Coastal Route is an innovative travel route that offers a wide range of nature experiences, exciting activities, rich cultural experiences, culinary delights, historical insights and vibrant cities. In the region, travellers will discover a natural and a cultural UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as two European Capitals of Culture.

From the Kvarken, “throat of the sea” in the southmost point all the way up to the Finnish-Swedish border in southern Lapland, the coast along the Bothnian Bay offers experiences in all seasons – in two distinct, yet similar countries.

 

You are warmly invited to learn more about unique winter possibilities at the regions around the Bothnian Bay, get to know some of the key suppliers and meet them digitally during the upcoming digital event on 10 September 2025.

Together with our partners from the Bothnian Coastal Route project, we invite you to take a closer look at the Bothnian coastline, where snow-covered landscapes meet a frozen sea. From ice adventures to coastal tranquillity, the Bothnian Bay region offers a unique perspective on winter travel in Northern Europe, shaped by nature, local life and genuine experiences.

Online Sales Workshop

  • Introduction to the topic Coastal Nordic Winter along the Bothnian Bay (approx. 30 min.)
  • 1:1 meetings pre-booked with the suppliers (18 slots, 15 min. each + 5 min.)
  • fixed breaks: lunch break (1:05 h) and coffee break (25 min.)

Matchmaking starts 27 August 2025.

A variety of coastal towns and cities located along the Bothnian Coastal Route – accessible and enticing all year round.
 

The Bothnian Coastal Route project, including northern Finnish and Swedish destinations, aims to increase awareness of the coastal area around the Bothnian Bay and over the Kvarken strait, as an attractive travel route for both international tourists and locals.

On the Swedish and Finnish side, the project includes the following destinations:
